Numerical simulation of a sinking ship scenario based on archaeological records

چکیده

Over the past decade, photogrammetric recording and virtual 3D modelling have evolved as a standard practice in documenting shipwreck sites. Exploiting same methods, we can attempt to virtually reconstruct dynamics of an accident leading creation archaeological site. By applying modern engineering tools capable deploying multi-body system simulate damaging, capsizing and/or sinking ship, model analyse various possible scenarios incident occurring ancient merchantman. Subsequently, establish correlation between characteristics actual site, outcome numerical simulation assumed scenario.

a study on thermodynamic models for simulation of 1,3 butadiene purification columns

attempts have been made to study the thermodynamic behavior of 1,3 butadiene purification columns with the aim of retrofitting those columns to more energy efficient separation schemes. 1,3 butadiene is purified in two columns in series through being separated from methyl acetylene and 1,2 butadiene in the first and second column respectively. comparisons have been made among different therm...

Numerical Simulation of Damaged Ship Motion in Waves

The coupling motion of heave, pitch and roll of intact ship and damaged ship in waves, and the flow of flood water in damaged tank have been simulated based on viscous theory. The calculation model is a 29000 t tanker model moving at a constant speed with damaged tank in midship area. Three cosine waves including head waves, beam waves and oblique waves are simulated by boundary input method re...

Collision Numerical Simulation Research of River-Sea Ship

Collision simulation of river-sea ship is accomplished based on nonlinear finite element method. Firstly, we discuss the development of collision analysis methods including theoretical methods, empirical formula method, experimental techniques and numerical analysis methods, and introduce the Central Difference Method adopted in the collision simulation. Then, model of ship structure and rigid ...

The Numerical Simulation of Ship Waves Using Cartesian Grid Methods

Two different cartesian-grid methods are used to simulate the flow around the DDG 5415. The first technique uses a “coupled level-set and volume-of-fluid” (CLS) technique to model the free-surface interface. The noflux boundary condition on the hull is imposed using a finite-volume technique. The second technique uses a level-set technique (LS) to model the free-surface interface. A body-force ...
